Austin Peay vs Memphis College Football Preview

The Austin Peay Governors will try to bring down the Memphis Tigers at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. FCS Austin Peay failed to find a victory last year and finished 0-12. The Memphis Tigers didn’t have a fantastic season at 3-9, but at least they won a couple of games. Memphis had a pretty good defense last season and they need to be able to perform well on the defensive side of the ball. Austin Peay will need a bunch of luck in order for them to get their first victory in more then a year.

Keys for Austin Peay:

  • The Governors will need a bunch of injuries and freak plays in order for them to have a chance at this game. They truly don’t stand a chance against an FBS opponent when they were unable to beat any FCS opponents that they faced last year.
  • If by some chance the Governors score in this game it will most likely come on a special teams play or a turnover.

-Keys for the Memphis Tigers:

  • Paxton Lynch will start his second year for the Tigers, and he can hopefully get the offense going once again. Lynch had 2056 yards but only nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
  • Brandon Hayes is back at running back for his senior year with the tigers. Last year he had 860 yards and five touchdowns for the tigers. Hayes is a key opponent for this offense and he must perform well.

–NO KEY INJURIES TO DATE

–Favorite/Odds: Memphis by 42 points

Memphis is returning enough starters this year to have a competitive team in most of their games. Memphis also has a defense that was one of the better ones in the nation. Austin Peay doesn’t stand a chance and Memphis will know it and show it.
