Idaho St vs Utah Preview

The Pac-12 sees its first team take the field in the Utah Utes. Utah finished last season with a record of 5-7, and were among the middle of the pack in every other statistical category. Utah started their 2013 season off with a couple of wins, but then struggled through the rest of the PAC-12. Hopefully they can pull out a few more wins and go bowling. Last year Idaho State’s first game was a tune up of sorts for them versus Dixie State College. This season it’s the Bengals themselves that are acting as the tune-up, we will see what they have to say about that.

-Keys for Idaho State Bengals

  • Senior quarterback Justin Arias will have to bear most of the weight on his shoulders for the Bengal offense this season. Last year Arias was able to step into the spotlight and holds the Bengal records for pass attempts in a season, while he completed 322 passes, second most for Idaho State. If Arias can match his 3500 passing yards maybe the Bengals will rally around him.

-Keys for Utah Utes:

  • Last year Travis Wilson and Adam Schulz split the quarterback duties, while Wilson had more yards and attempts, the position is still considered open. If the Utes hope to get back on track they need to make a definitive decision on who their starting quarterback is going to be.

–Favorite/Odds: Utah by 20.5 points

The Utah Utes are looking to start their season off with a tune-up game versus Idaho State. But the Idaho State Bengals will be clawing their way around the field with the hopes that the Utes will slip up and allow them to escape with a victory.
