Idaho vs Florida College Football Preview

Idaho vs Florida college football

The Idaho Vandals travel to the swamp to take on the Florida Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The vandals had a terrible 2013 season with only one win to their name. The vandals had some success in the passing game, but it was all for naught when their defense would allow more then 46 points per game. Florida is still trying to rebuild their team under head coach Will Muschamp. The Gators struggled on the offensive side of the ball, but they were 15th in the nation in opponents scoring average of 21 points per game. Now that Muschamp has a solid defense to build from, he must find a better strategy for his offense. Florida needs to improve from a 4-8 season.

Keys for the Idaho Vandals:

  • The Vandals lost their best wide receiver from 2013, so they will have to rely on a young receiving core.
  • Chad Chalich returns under center for the Vandals. Last season Chalich had only 1224 yards and five touchdowns. This season now that he is starting Chalich will have to do better now that he will have more responsibility.

Keys for the Florida Gators:

  • Florida’s defense was one of the toughest for opponents in 2013. Obviously head coach Muschamp has had some influence in the as the defensive head coach. Muschamp must find a way to get his offense going. It was proven in 2013 that even the best defenses need a decent offense to go with it.
  • Mack Brown had four rushing touchdowns for Florida last season. Now that Brown will handle more of the action he will need to step up
  • Idaho

–Favorite/Odds: Florida by 36.5 points

Florida is trying to rebuild its squad with Will Muschamp at the helm, maybe this season they will get back into bowl contention. But for Florida fans its now has to be all about patience for when their team will be competitive again.
