New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

The New Orleans Saints start their 2014 season traveling to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia to face the Atlanta Falcons Sunday.

The New Orleans Saints finished their 2013 season at 11-5 overall and 5-1 in the NFC South, clinching a wildcard spot. Quarterback Drew Brees led the offense with 5,162 passing yards and 39 touchdowns. In addition, tight end Jimmy Graham had 86 receptions for 1,215 yards and 16 TDs.

The Saints’ defense was led by Curtis Lofton with 82 solo tackles and 125 tackles overall. In addition, Keenan Lewis led the saints with 4 interceptions. New Orleans had the 4th ranked defense last season.

The Atlanta Falcons finished the 2013 season at 4-12 overall and were 1-5 in the NFC South. Quarterback Matt Ryan led the team with 4,515 passing yards and 26 TDs. In addition Steven Jackson led the rushing attack was 157 carries and 6 TDs.

The Falcons defense was led by Paul Worrilow was 79 solo tackles, and 127 total tackles. In addition, William Moore led the team with 3 interceptions. Atlanta had the 27th ranked defense in 2013.

Keys to New Orleans win

Expect Drew Brees to have another great year and for TE Jimmy Graham to be his favorite target. Brees needs to mix up the run and pass to keep the defense off balance. The Saints defense will need to play the well and force some turnovers.

Keys to Atlanta win

Matt Ryan will need to have a good game against the 4th ranked defense from last year. Steven Jackson will need to have a good game as well and not turn the ball over.
