The three time defending FCS national champion North Dakota Bison head off to face the Iowa State Cyclones. North Dakota also has won all of its games against FBS opponents since 2010, including wins over Minnesota and Kansas State. Iowa State on the other hand lost its season opener last year to FCS Northern Iowa. These Bison are not to be messed with and Iowa State might consider itself as the underdog even at home. North Dakota was a great scheduling feat for Iowa State, so long as they escape with a win, they will have a win against the best FCS team.  -Keys for Appalachian State Mountaineers:

Keys for the North Dakota State Bison:

      • The Bison went undefeated in 2013 including the FCS national championship that they won easily over Towson.
      • The loss of head coach Craig Bohl will certainly not help the Bison, as it was coach Bohl that was able to execute it so well. This may be the weakest link when it comes to North Dakota, and maybe Iowa State’s only advantage.

Keys for the Iowa State Cyclones

      • Sam Richardson will be under center for the cyclones once again, and he will be hoping for a better year in which Richardson threw only 11 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
      • Aaron Wimberly will be in taking the bulk of the snaps in the backfield, which could use some room for improvement with less then 150 yards a game rushing last year.

NO KEY INJURIES TO DATE

–Favorite/Odds: Iowa State by 3.5 points

Iowa State certainly knows what the Bison have done to their previous FBS opponents, so they will certainly be mentally prepared to face them. North Dakota State looks to continue to make a name for itself in both the FCS and FBS divisions. Either way this game will be a close exciting matchup.
