Western Michigan vs Purdue College Football Preview

college-football-michigan-state-vs-purdue-525bc2a94926efe1 Two of the worst teams from last season face off against each other when Western Michigan faces Purdue at Ross-Ade Stadium. Both teams only managed to get a single win last year with Western Michigan beating Massachusetts and Purdue winning over less then impressive Indiana State. Western Michigan has a couple of talented backs, but not enough line support to make anything happen. Purdue seems to have abandoned the running game altogether seeing as they only averaged 67 yards per game rushing, good enough for 125th on the year. This matchup will give the winning team the same amount of wins it had all of 2013, with plenty of games to maybe pick up a second win.

-Keys for Appalachian State Mountaineers:

Keys for Western Michigan Broncos:

      • Stopping the passing game of the Boilermakers will almost surely stop their offense entirely. Western Michigan will be able to put faster defense backs on the field in place of loading the box with linemen.
      • Sophomore QB Zach Terrell returns to run the Broncos offense trying to gain redemption for his measly 8 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.

-Keys for Purdue Boilermakers:

      • Although head coach Darrell Hazell needs to find a way to run the football rather then passing it the entirety of the game.
      • Sophomore QB Danny Etling also wants to get some redemption after throwing 10 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

–Favorite/Odds: Purdue by 11 points

-Both of these teams feature young quarterbacks that struggled to find their way in their first year. But now both of these teams have a QB with experience under his belt. One of these teams will leave with a sense of satisfaction that may carry over into that lucky teams season to come.
