Troy VS UAB College Football Preview

Troy at UAB
The Troy Trojans will travel to The University of Alabama at Birmingham and face off. The Trojans will have to go to UAB without an experienced QB that the offense style depends on. Last season Troy would tear through teams with their aerial attack. The Trojans faced the same UAB team in their season opener of 2013, a game that saw the Trojans win in overtime. UAB’s offense utilizes more of a running game when compared to Troy. Last year UAB had two rushers over 800 yards, and although they lost a few key players, much of the same team is back for 2014. -Keys for Appalachian State Mountaineers:

Keys for the Troy Trojans:

      • The Trojans just failed at reaching the possibility of a bowl bid with a 6-6 record. Some of the games in which they lost, were only lost by a touchdown or less. The Trojans need to fight harder in the closer games that they have in order to try to become bowl eligible.
      • Troy lost a fantastic QB for them this year and head coach Larry Blakenley will have to decide who the new QB is going to be.

Keys for UAB:

      • With a disappointing two-win season, UAB is trying to rebuild this season after losing arguably their best running back.
      • RB Jordan Howard returns to the Blazer squad after 881 yards receiving but only two touchdowns.
      • UAB will have to find a way to stop the Trojan passing attack. Perhaps a Trojan horse play?

Favorite/Odds: Each team is equally picked to win

The Troy Trojans think that their passing attack will be unstoppable, and until UAB stops them this will remain true. The Blazers will be playing the upset role and won’t have much pressure. Troy bears all the pressure but also has the ability to take the game over.
