Youngstown State heads to take on Illinois in what is sure to be a high scoring game. The Illinois fighting Illini had an aerial attack in 2013 and had a top 25 passing offense in the nation. Champagne Illinois has always been kind to the Illini, Youngstown State should be rattled by the crowd come game day. Although Youngstown had 8 wins last season in the FCS, the Illini are no FCS opponent no matter how bad last season went. The Illini lost a few of their key players, but hopefully head coach Tim Beckman has found suitable Illini recruits. -Keys for Appalachian State Mountaineers:

–Keys for Youngstown State Penguins:

      • Head Coach Eric Wolford announced that Dante Nania, a junior, would open as the starting quarterback. Last season he completed 11-of-20 passes for 180 yards. He completed five passes in contests against North Dakota State and Morehead State.

–Keys for Illinois Fighting Illini:

      • Junior running back Josh Ferguson will be a key player for the Illini, and he is looking to add to his 230 carries for 1143 yards and seven touchdowns. And not only was Ferguson an excellent rusher, he caught 50 balls for 535 yards receiving in 2013.
      • If Youngstown finds a way to shut down a young QB and force the Illini to rush, they could be in for some trouble.

–NO KEY INJURIES TO DATE

–Favorite/Odds: Illinois by 14.5 points.

–The Fighting Illini were more threatening of a team in previous season, but should be able to come out of this game with a win. Youngstown will certainly show some of its strength and maybe even make a run at the end, but Illinois has the experience in the long run, and the Illini certainly need it more then Youngstown.
